Week 26, hello Third Trimester? Not really sure on that. I have read that week 28 is considered third trimester, but also read week 26 can be considered third trimester. So hello maybe third trimester. LOL
Had a pretty good week. Scaled back on the overtime at work which seemed to help a lot! The only stress I need right now is this house hunting search! LOL
We got to go to a Tigers game this week, and if you know me you know I LOVE being in the ball park :) Squeezed my big belly in my little jersey and had a great time. Except for that lady sitting next to me elbowing poor baby!
My sacred pregnancy class this week couldnt have come at a better time. With all the news we had last week it really helped. Our lesson was connecting to the baby and pregnancy experience, and discussing our pregnancy expectations. Expectations..something I work on daily to let go of! Sharing stories with other pregnant mama's reminded me that Im not alone, and others are going exactly through what I am! Our project for the week was to design a inspiration board for another mama. We based the board off an affirmation for that person. The board made for me literally brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me that Im not alone, and wonderful things will unfold before me. She even drew three hearts on it, Grant, mine, and Baby Boys. And there was a number four that represented four healthy heart chambers for baby boy. Just a few things on the board that warmed my heart. Im getting chills just thinking about it. This class has been healing!
The network of nerves in baby's ears is better developed and sensitive. He can hear both daddy and mommy now :) He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These breathing movements are great practice for when he will take his first breath of air. Hes also continue to put on baby fat. And his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum, which takes about 2-3 days. Amazing how all that is happening inside me!
How far along? 26 Weeks
Baby Size Head of Lettuce
Total weight gain/loss: 30lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep. Although I have to admit the maternity jeans are starting to feel uncomfortable! Yoga or leggings most of the time.
Stretch marks? Havent seen anything new yet, bathing in Palmers lotion. Thats all I smell these days! LOL
Sleep: Sleep was a little restless this week. I read how I should try to sleep mostly on my side by now, and honestly it has me waking up every hour thinking about it! LOL
A little did you know: When you lie on your back, your bulging uterus squishes the vena cava, the main vein that returns blood from your lower body to your heart. Lying on your back for an extended period of time can cause dizziness, breathlessness, and my interfere with the blood of nutrients to the placenta.
So yeah, its been on my mind through the night. I did try body pillows which help a bit. But might have to invest in one of those big body pregnamcy pillows. Sorry Bandito time for you to go sleep with the other dogs in your DOG BED! Hahahaha
Best moment the week: We decided on a name!!! Emerson Robert Goulet <3 Emerson means brave and powerful, and Robert after my dad :) It look us quite some time but I absolutely love it more and more each day. Feels great to talk to baby with his name :)
We also got to meet Baby William! Grants cousin, Kendra (and BJ!) had their baby boy three weeks ago. He was absolutely adorable!
Miss Anything? I cant think of anything I missed to much this week. Sleep? LOL
Movement: Feeling Emerson kick a little bit each day. Mostly at work. I wonder if thats because he feels my stress level rising. Hahahaha Our midwife talked about how we should start tracking fetal movement counts. Tracking how many long it takes to feel him move 10 times. She gave me a few pointers to help with that. Makes me nervous because this means we are getting close to labor & delivery! Eek!
Food cravings: All food is tasting great again! YAY! But those dang chili cheese fries....had them twice this week! You might be pregnant if you order chili cheese fries and a bowl of lemon rice soup for lunch. LOL
Have you started to show yet: Yep, you can say that :)
Gender prediction: Still a boy! The tech that did the echo-cardiogram was like oh yeah its a boy. And she saud usually shes not that great at identifying that. Im sure Grant is proud. :)
Labor Signs: Thankfully no!
Belly Button in or out? Still in but definitely getting flatter.
Wedding rings on or off Sadly, still off :(
Symptoms: Swelling! Ouch. My feet and hands have been swelling on a daily basis! I have been propping them up at work and that has helped a lot. But my hands swollen are a little painful! I have upped my water and fruit intake hoping that would help. Sausages fingers and toes! Does this mean Im close to cankles? :p
Also have had really stuffy nose. Using the netty pot weekly has been really helpful! Read up that 30% of woman will have this issue while pregnant. And could also be a factor of not getting great sleep. It is caused by the increased levels of estrogen during pregnancy, which contributes to swelling in the mucous membranes lining the nose and even cause you to make more mucus. Lovely. LOL
Happy or Moody? Its been a pretty good week. More anxiety than Id like but I think this house hunt is really pushing up the anxiety. Hopefully we will get some relief on that soon!
Looking forward to: Everything in August! Its going to be a fun month. The 3-Day, a friends wedding, Baby Shower, Birth Classes, and visit with Emerson via ultrasound! :)
