Is it just me or are these weeks flying by now??!!!
When you say 17 weeks, you think that is almost a whole season right? Especially when you hear 17 weeks in the first trimester, it sounds like an eternity! But 3.5 months sounds like NOTHING as you're rounding off your second trimester! LOL We have so much in limbo right now so I think that could also be so overwhelming.
Our house hunt is going very bad. We cant find a place to rent with three dogs in a decent area, and time is ticking away! Hopefully something will come up soon!
We also got some bad news regarding Vinyl's, our oldest dog, health. She was diagnosed with degenerative myelotpathy. It is a progressive disease of the spinal cord, and is incurable. She has already started to lose coordination in her back legs. When she stands her legs are crossing like she cant really feel where they are, and when laying down she goes down very slowly because she is unaware of where her legs are. She also has started to poop in her sleep or laying down, Im assuming because she cant feel it :( The outcome is eventually she will have complete paralysis of her back legs, resulting in not being able to walk at all. But right now, besides the part of slowly laying down, she is still walking, running, playing, and acting like her same old self. So we will just take it day by day to see how fast it progresses. I have been a wreck over it. I watch her like a hawk and cry every time I see her struggling. I dreaded this day. She has been with us since the first year Grant and I started dating! She is our baby girl!
If Im learning anything, between the baby and Vinyl, is live in the moment and take each day as it comes!
But this week was her 12th birthday, so we had the best birthday bash we could :) Lots of treats including doggie cupcakes, belly rubs, playtime, kisses, and a relaxing brush out for baby girl to. Although she might think that brushing was not a fun time. Ha! And of course Rusty and Bandito fought over their treats, wouldnt be a party without those two fighting!
This week pregnancy related we didnt have any appointments scheduled, but getting anxious to see baby boy at the next ultrasound on the 19th. :) We did find some resources of things to register for baby that will help him with some of the struggles he might face. From developing motor skills to carriers :) Grant and I also signed in to a webinar that talked about the basics of Downs Syndrome, and some of the research that is currently in progress. Every little bit of information helps :)
How far along? 23 weeks
Baby Size: Grapefruit, although last weeks spaghetti squash was much bigger so think I may have my fruits backwards. LOL
Total weight gain: Still havent picked up a new scale, but according to the doctors scale this week I would be up 25lbs
Maternity clothes? Yep, especially maternity tank tops and tshirts when not at work, because my belly causes the regular ones to ride up, like Winnie The Pooh! Ha!
Stretch marks? A few in the hips/side area
Sleep: Still sleeping well, but going to try to stop the unisom (taking it at night for morning sickness) next week and see how I do
Best moment this week: Besides the day off work? :p Spending time with friends and family - with everything going on with the pregnancy I have been having more down days than up, so its always nice to be around those that love and support us. :)
Also, celebrating Vinyl's 12th Birthday! :)
Miss Anything? Beer, damn summer weather! I did try an non-alcoholic beer this week but it was to frothy and upset my stomach. LOL
Movement: Still not feeling much, and honestly people's concern about it is starting to freak me out!
Food cravings: Most food sounds very blah to me these days. Hard to believe! But ice cream is still my go to :) Oh and strawberry lemonade :)
Have you started to show yet: I think officially yes! I had two strangers actually comment to me. Once at the doctors office, thyroid doctors, so not OB office, a woman offered to let me use the restroom first in case that baby is sitting on my bladder! And he was. :) Another time when I was at the dog store a woman was carrying in her baby and said, awe look at you, soon you will have one of these! :)
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? So very, very sad to say my ring is officially off. :( :(
Symptoms: Nothing to bad this week besides this all food taste blah. Hope this passes soon!
Pregnancy Dreams: Had my first labor dream, or nightmare I might say! We were grocery shopping and my water broke! Of course it was not just a simple puddle, but more of a flood. LOL I called my midwife to meet us at the hospital and she said, No you cant be in labor your only 23 weeks!!! Than I woke up, and instantly felt the bed and my belly. LOL
Happy or Moody most of the time: Unfortunately, very sad this week.
Looking forward to: Next week we are going to see Fun! And my sacred pregnancy 8 week course starts, super geeked about that :)
P.S. Sorry for the craptastic quality picture....not sure what happened to the lighting on that one!
