We had a little bit of a scare this week. I guess I got a little over confident with how great I was feeling and thought my morning sickness had run its course. Since about week 8 I have been taking a unisom/B6 combo at bedtime, and it has helped my mornings tremendously. Nausea still visited, but for the most part the vomitting was very minimal. Well I thought I was feeling more better than usual, so stopped taking the combo at bedtime towards the end of week 14. Not thinking much about it, I started puking more than usual. On Saturday, it got really bad with vomitting every single thing I ate. From 8am to 8pm, I puked 7 times. Both Grant and I were a little concerned that I might be getting dehyrated so called the midwife on call at the hospital. She was so helpful, assessing my condition as best she could on the phone. Thats when the ah-ha moment came up that its the normal morning sickness I have, but not taking the unisom/B6 combo, morning sickness was rearing its ugly head. Just as a precaution, she called me in a prescription of Zofran to have on hand. She said that if I could keep water down for the next couple hours that I should be okay not coming into the hospital. And to make sure I took the B6/Unisom that night and see how I felt in the morning. And that seemed to work!
Im so happy with the practice we have chosen to go with. The midwives have been such a great wealth of information and super supportive!
This week the baby is the size of an orange. Baby's legs are growing longer than baby's arms, and can move all joints and limbs. Baby's eyelids are still fused shut, but baby can sense light. And even though baby can not taste, baby is forming taste buds.
I love reading how the baby is growing each week. Its pretty amazing :)
Me at 15 Weeks:
Morning sickness: As you read earlier, morning sickness is still very much part of my daily life! LOL
Bra Issues: Well they are growing that is for sure! Back into bra size that I was pre breast reduction. And the sports bras probably wont fit in another couple weeks. Hello Baby! LOL
Weight: I did lose 5lbs from Saturday's vomit session, but I gained it back by the end of week 15. Been staying at the same weight for a few weeks now.
Movement: Havent felt anything lately, just a lot of gas. Ha!
Energy: My energy is still pretty low. We did discover that I have been overmedicated on my thyroid meds, we have made some adjustments and hoping to feel a little bit relief in the next couple weeks.
Worries: My thyroid condition is worrisome. Im in the middle of trying to find a new endocrinologist that doesnt follow old school traditional medicine. Very hard to find. But hoping to discuss this further at my appointment on the 21st.
Appointments: My 16 week appointment is coming up on the 21st! So excited to hear the baby's heartbeat again :)
