We Heart The Bubble Room

We arrived in St. Augustine around 7, and it was pretty dark. So we didnt get to see the ocean but I could hear it. Our hotel was sort of ocean front. We stayed at the Castillo Real. Theres a few houses between the hotel and the ocean, but our room faced the ocean. You could defintely hear it, and see it within the distance. This hotel has mixed reviews on trip advisor so we were hoping for the best. I have to say I was quite impressed. It was a nice little getaway. The bed was very comfortable to, probably the most comfortable we have had yet. The balcony over looked the pool and of course the ocean out a bit.

We settled in and checked out urban spoon to see if we could find someplace to grab dinner. Grant found that a bubble room recently opened in St. Augustine. I wanted to visit the orginal Bubbleroom in Captiva but didnt get a chance to, so was pretty esastic when he told me there was one in St. Augustine. They closed at 9, so we had to make a move on it. We were actually staying in St. Augustine Beach, but St. Augustine was only about a 7-8 minute drive away. St. Augustine was a cute town. Once you got into the downtown area the streets were alley like, so it felt like we were riding on the sidewalks. LOL I wish we had time to look around and window shopped because there were a ton of places! It was pretty packed in town since it was a Saturday, but thats whats great about owning a mini - so many options to park that others dont have ;) We used the GPS to try to find the Bubbleroom which was an adventure. We love adventures! After we realized which way the dot was moving on the GPS we realized we were going out of the way. LOL Told you it was an adventure. We found our way at about 8:20, and the bubble room scouts welcomed us with open arms. Not something the people back in Michigan do when you come in around closing time!

I LOVED the Bubbleroom. So glad we had a chance to go there. Such an interesting place. My dad would of loved it. They said there is over a million dollars in antiques in there. They had a few rooms. We ate in the jungle room, but visited the Christmas Room and Circus Room later on. I enjoyed one of the best pina caladas ever, and Grant enjoyed a pink flamingo. They start you off with bubble bread and sticky buns. That would be really yummie garlicy bread, and cinnamin buns! Yes cinnamin buns that were just as delicious. I ordered the Moe - which was pasta, chicken, green beans, and tomatoes mixed in a garlic parm sauce. Best food Ive had on the trip! And Grant enjoyed the, Its Hot! Hot! Hot!, and yes it was extremely hot. Shrimp in a very hot sauce, wild rice that appeared to be hot as well, and a delicious fried banana. We were in there past 9, but they let us walk around and take a look at everything before we left. Love to visit there again sometime!

On the way back to the hotel I noticed so many interesting things to check out in St. Augustine. I wish we had more time here, so will defintely like to take a trip back sometime. Our hotel room had french doors to the balcony. We kept them open all night and fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing. It doesnt get better than this!
